Meditations have been used in every culture and civilisation since the dawn of time, used by shamans and tribesmen of the nomadic periods until the modern day. Along with Kings, Queens and priests in every society from Mesopotamia, Egypt, India and China they all practices forms of meditation to develop their understanding of their own bodies and the world around them. Meditation is still used today in this fashion and is a well-documented of how its benefits can help people in all walks of life, from athletes to office workers. Meditation itself is a form of practice that is designed to stimulate and build one’s mind and consciousness, like training the body or a muscle will improve physical performance, so to is meditation or the brain.
In our school and fitness coaching we are strong believers that a health mind can both be a cause and an effect of fitness using fitness as a form of therapy to heal the mind but also a improved mind can bring better intensity and focus to your fitness. This is why we look to include this subject in our coaching material.
It is true that Meditation practices number in their thousands of variations and styles however what they can all agree on is the goal of the methods, to achieve a higher level of development and a healthy mind. Due to this we recognise that no one system is superior to another only those certain methods my benefit different individuals according to their own life experiences. Due to this we highly recommend 1:1 coaching to help identify the best practice that will suit your own needs and lifestyle choices. However various courses will be available in a multitude of methods for those who are open to learning new skills and committed to self-practice.
