MEET YOUR COACHES!
Hi, I’m Beckie PlAtt.
My path into fitness and personal training has been quite different from Andrew’s, but it’s one that brings a unique depth of experience. My background is rooted in physiotherapy, where I’ve worked as an assistant and technical instructor for over a decade. I began my career in a private clinic, treating a wide range of conditions from musculoskeletal injuries to complex neurological issues. During this time, I was also completing a Level 3 BTEC in Sports and Exercise Science at Stockport College, laying a strong academic foundation for my career in health and fitness.
Following my time in the private sector, I joined the NHS and gained extensive experience across a variety of departments including Stroke Rehabilitation, Respiratory, Intensive Care, and Orthopaedics. These roles gave me a deep understanding of the many physical and psychological barriers people face when trying to access exercise. This perspective has shaped my approach to training—ensuring it's always inclusive, accessible, and focused on individual needs.
Eventually, I transitioned back into private healthcare, working as a Technical Instructor at a Neurological Clinic. Here, I was able to directly support individuals in regaining strength, mobility, and confidence through exercise—regardless of the challenges they were facing. I also completed a Level 2 in Planning and Delivering Gym-Based Exercise and a Level 3 in Personal Training, which I’ve actively used within the clinical setting to help bridge the gap between rehabilitation and fitness.
My own fitness journey started even earlier—with dance lessons from the moment I could walk. Dance remained a major part of my life through to adulthood, filling my weeks with classes, performances, competitions, and exams across multiple disciplines. Alongside my passion for dance, I’ve always enjoyed spending time in the gym. In the past five years, I discovered a deep love for CrossFit, drawn to its unique blend of cardio, weightlifting, and high-level gymnastics skills. I enjoy the constant challenge, the variety, and the opportunity to build strength and fitness every day.
Above all, I’m a firm believer in the positive impact exercise has on mental health and overall wellbeing. My goal is to help others experience these same benefits, no matter where they’re starting from or what obstacles they face.
Hi, I’m andrew PlAtt.
My mantra has always been to do what you love doing, and take it as far as you can go, If you give your training everything you have for as long as you can then your time will never be wasted as you will experience amazing changes in your life. Be efficient and consistent and over time, you will not only reach your goals but perhaps find new ones you never knew were possible. Most importantly you will enjoy your journey to reach them, create a strong character and find your true self along the way!
With over twenty years of experience in the fitness industry, I’ve had the opportunity to develop a diverse and specialised skill set that I now bring to every client I work with. My journey began at the age of eight in the functional world of martial arts and natural gymnastics (Parkour/Free Running). These early passions remained with me into adulthood and led to a semi-professional sponsorship in Parkour, as well as achieving nine black belts or equivalent ranks across various martial arts disciplines. By the age of eighteen, I recognised the need to enhance my technical skills with focused strength and cardiovascular training to reach the next level in my performance.
This desire for self-improvement sparked my pursuit of formal qualifications in gym instruction and personal training, which I completed with the Future Fitness Training team. I went on to gain valuable industry experience by working in a variety of mainstream gyms across Manchester, including Virgin Active, Total Fitness, and Fitness First, as well as several smaller private facilities. Over time, I explored every professional avenue available, eventually reaching the highest levels in the field and opening my own functional fitness centre.
For over a decade, I owned and managed this centre with the mission of making fitness and martial arts accessible to all—from children to the elderly. We offered daily gym classes and one-on-one personal training sessions, while also working closely with local sports teams and high-level athletes, including footballers, motocross riders, Muay Thai and boxing fighters, water polo players, climbers, rugby players, cyclists, and more.
During this period, I also worked as a natural gymnastics and fitness coach at a Manchester-based circus school. There, I spent several years helping children from both mainstream and home-school backgrounds develop fitness, coordination, and confidence. I also worked with young adults from local colleges and universities, promoting fitness as a tool to improve their futures beyond education. In addition to coaching, I organised regular classes, workshops, and seminars to support personal development and introduce new talent into the fitness industry.
At the circus school, I had the privilege of working with experienced adult performers as their strength and conditioning coach, helping them reach new physical heights in their performances. In return, I picked up some circus skills myself—further expanding my functional training philosophy and even participating in a number of shows and events.
Alongside my coaching, I continued to challenge myself physically, advancing in martial arts and exploring a wide range of disciplines including indoor/outdoor climbing, hiking, mountaineering, fell running, and both Olympic and powerlifting. Eventually, I took a short break from the fitness industry to gain qualifications and experience in business, finance, marketing, and administration—skills that have since laid a solid foundation for my long-term goals. These experiences now allow me to bring fitness to a wider audience, using both professional insight and personal passion to help others transform their lives.
In recent years, while managing a full-time job and building a strong family life, I’ve competed in long-distance running and hiking events, and fully embraced the CrossFit methodology at my local gym. This has further refined my Olympic lifting, powerlifting, and endurance training. I've also returned to my early roots in bodybuilding and strength work, blending these disciplines into a well-rounded, goal-focused training style. Balancing all of this with family and career commitments has been both challenging and deeply rewarding—and it's become my mission to help others in similar situations find that same balance and success.
